I think this is one of my favorite photos I've taken. It has no meaning. I'm in a taxi. There are cars on the road. The sedan and motorcycle appear as if they want to crash into each other. Or like all of us, being dragged to the center. You can't avoid it. The center comes for us all as we merge into the middle lane, sometimes at the worst moment as seen here.
Like being called to the center of the math room right when you've been thinking about last night's WWE Divas throwing whip'd 3.14s at each other in the middle of ten thousands of onlookers and it was all on TV. The one that sits off-center. And now I'm standing in the front of the room looking forward because looking back would be careless.
While in Colombia I was able to capture the average life of a population that is living by their available means and its enough. Everyone can have more, everyone would love more but here it's enough to just survive with good company at your side. Aside from the violence. (I'm able to make mention of it because my Colombian friend gave me P-word pass, Parce. Don't ask what word pass I gave him. Let's just say he got kicked out of the LA Fitness court, Parce.)
Anyway, this photo is cool. Like people are just headed somewhere to be called to the center. Nah mean?
